A SMALL TOOL. A CLEAR JOB.
Convert PNG to SVG,
one contour at a time.
Automatic tracing works best for logos, icons, line art and simple graphics. It is not suitable for photographs. Photos contain gradients and texture that turn into many approximate shapes, not a faithful editable photo.
This PNG to SVG converter traces the pixels into colored paths. It does not place your PNG inside an SVG wrapper.
How to change PNG to SVG
Drop or choose one PNG, or paste a copied PNG image. Choose precision and the maximum number of colors. Convert, inspect the vector preview, and download. The original filename is kept with an .svg extension; clipboard images use pasted-image.svg.
What the settings do
Smooth simplifies small contours. Detailed keeps finer contours and may produce larger files. Color count controls palette quantization, not an exact guaranteed number of visible colors. Transparency is traced as part of that palette; soft edges can change.
Limits you should know
One PNG up to 10 MB and 16 million decoded pixels. Tracing uses a working image up to 1,024 pixels on its longest side; output keeps the original width and height with scalable paths. Details smaller than the working image can be lost. No batch processing, accounts or saved history.
